Why does coaching matter?

We want our employees to grow and do their best work. Adult learning, however, is not a straightforward concept. We each have different learning styles and preferences, and we come to learning with years of baggage that can lead to inaccurate assumptions, hang-ups, and unhelpful beliefs. While classroom learning is an important tool to help employees grow, the majority of learning will not occur there. Coaching is an excellent method to accelerate an individual’s growth and application of new skills because it offers personalized support that can cut through these common learning barriers.

Think of coaching as bespoke learning—made to order. Great coaching is just what performers need, right when they need it—that nudge outside the box or the encouragement to go for a new promotion. Coaching is special, noble, and highly satisfying because when we focus on helping performers make progress, our contribution to individuals and organizations skyrockets.

Simply put, coaching has the power to catalyze breakthroughs in individual performance—when it is done well.

EMPOWER Coaching:
Life, Executive & Business Coaching

EMPOWER Coaching is a process of supporting a coachee to discover and challenge themselves to gain clarity about their preferred outcomes.
It is forward-focused rather than an analysis of the past.
It is a process that guides decisions and actions, overcomes obstacles, and supports a coachee to be accountable.
It is action-based requiring the coachee’s commitment to develop and deliver on action steps.

EMPOWER Coaching is an ongoing process that is personalised and usually conducted one-on-one.  The executive coaching sessions typically occur at least 2 to 3 times a month and can run from between 30 minutes up to two hours depending on the needs of the coachee.


Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder-Centered Coaching (MGSCC): LEADERSHIP Coaching

Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching (MGSCC) is a transparent process that guarantees measurable leadership growth.

The MGSCC approach is designed to help successful people lead more effectively through long-term change in leadership behavior. This highly successful approach to executive development and coaching includes a strong emphasis on involvement of stakeholders, implementation of change and follow-through to measure growth in leadership effectiveness. In the end the only thing that counts is leadership growth i.e. leadership (behavior) effectiveness on the job as perceived by stakeholders. As Marshall puts it: “Leadership Change and Coaching are simple but not easy!”
